As the world gets smaller and technology brings all four corners of the globe together, there remains even today 1.7 billion people that are still classed as ‘unbanked’
From that figure, an estimated 66% of which are Sub-Saharan Africans. This particular region is home to all eight economies where 20 percent or more of adults use only a mobile money account: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
Africa often dubbed crypto’s promised land because of the opportunity the unbanked offer there, is a resource-rich but people poor continent. However, four of the fastest-growing economies in the world are in Africa and economic growth is predicted to rise from 3.9% in 2020 to 4.1% in 2021.
An African Mission
